Selection Procedure
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION IN FIRST YEAR COURSE:
- For B.A. Ist Year : Passed AISSCE (10+2) or any other equivalent examination with a Minimum of 40% in aggregate of five papers with pass in English (Comp.).
- For B Sc Ist Year : Passed in the corresponding subjects at (10+2) stage with marks not less than 45% in aggregate with pass in English (Comp.) & Chemistry.
- For B Com Ist Year : Minimum 40% in aggregate at (10+2) stage with pass in English (Comp.) . Arts and Science students at H.S. classes are also eligible.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION in IInd & IIIrd YEAR:
- Pass / Compartmental in corresponding lower
- Examination of Rajiv Gandhi University(Central) Itanagar.
THE THREE-YEAR COURSE MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN SIX YEARS FROM THE DATE OF FIRST ENTRY IN THE COLLEGE.(This is applicable w.e.f 2009 – 2010 admitted students)

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION IN – Ist YEAR:
- Certificate of Class-X (Original with 05 Xerox copies).
- Mark Sheet of Class-XII (Original with 05 Xerox copies).
- Passport Size photographs (06 copies for APST students and 04 copies for others) with name and class written on the backside.
- Transfer Certificate from the Head of the institution last attended (Original).
- Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended (Original).
- SC/ST Certificate for stipend (Original and one Xerox copy).
- Migration Certificate: (Original + one Xerox copy)
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR IInd & IIIrd YEAR ADMISSION:
- Marks Sheet of Ist / IInd Year Annual Examination in original and two Xerox copies each.
- Recent Passport Size photographs (06 copies for APST students and 04 copies for others) with name and class written on the backside.
- Original and one Xerox copy of ST Certificate.
- Original and one Xerox copy of Registration Card.
ELIGIBILITY FOR OFFERING HONOURS IN IInd YEAR:
- Student must have secured 45% marks in BA/BSc/ Ist year (50% for non-APST students) in Theory and Practical separately in the subject in which he/she is desirous of studying Honours. For B. Com, a minimum of 40% marks for APST and 45% marks for non APST students is required to be obtained in I year.
- Students, after getting admitted into II Year (Pass course), will have to apply only in prescribed format specifying preference of subject for a seat in Honours Course along with attested copy of Mark sheet for appearing in the Honours Selection Test. Application is to be deposited to the Academic Branch.
- Seats in Honours courses are limited and hence the students will be screened through an Honours Selection test (Max. Marks:50) and the Academic Committee will do selection on merit basis centrally (50% of Univ. Marks + Hons. Selection test marks). The test is on first year syllabus only. 80% of the total seats in each subject are reserved for APST students. A minimum of 25% in the Honours Selection test is compulsory.
- The numbers of seats available for Honours courses in various Departments are as follows:
- English-50, History-50, Political Science-50, Geography-30, Education-25, Economics-25, Hindi-50, Botany-15, Zoology-15, Mathematics-15, Physics-10, Chemistry-10, Commerce-25.
NOTE (FOR ALL CANDIDATES):
- Candidates should be present in person before the Admission Committee; no proxy admission is allowed.
- Students from Open School are not eligible for admission.
- The compartmental students of Class XII shall not be admitted.
- Original copy is a must for verification and only the Lecturers on duty shall do the attestation.
- Original copies of I year students (Cl X Certificate& Cl. XII Mark Sheet will be handed over back to the students only when those are received from the University after registration.
- Persons seeking admission must fill the admission form carefully and by his / her own handwriting.
- If any candidate fills in information, which is found incorrect and presumably intended to get selected in the Merit List, his /her candidature will be summarily rejected. If detected later, admission will be cancelled.
- Failed students are not eligible for admission in the same class.
- Students intending to offer Honours in IInd year must offer the same elective subject in Ist year.
- Students shall not be allowed to change their subject combination after being admitted. They should, therefore, choose their subject combination carefully at the time of admission. However, the subject combination of the students offering Geography will be changed as per their alternate combination mentioned in the application format, in case they fail to get selected for Geography on the basis of merit. The maximum number of seats in Geography is 150.(Cut off marks for Geog. Students during the session 2009-10 was 65%)
- Some seats are reserved for students coming from outside the state, J & K migrants, National level sportspersons and NCC cadets (in Ist Yr. only).
